One of the best parts of a big snow like the one we had yesterday is watching the birds at the feeder. Chickadees are so cool. They come when I call them…chick-a-dee-dee-dee. They let me know if the feeder is empty, too– they follow me around the yard chirping at me, jumping from branch to branch until they get my attention! Juncos, the official snowbird, are also fun to watch. We have more than one type here: the Slate-Colored Junco; the Pink-Sided Junco; and the one pictured below, the Oregon Junco. Even though it is called Oregon, it is common throughout the West.
