“Thanks for that awesome posting. It saved MUCH time :-)”

Those of you who have your own website may be familiar with the above “title.”  It’s part of many spam comments sent to blogs throughout the world wide web. Spam comments try to trick you into allowing them on your blog so the spammer can sell stuff–usually weird stuff like Hermes handbags or extensions to certain body parts.

When we first started this blog I had high hopes of generating interesting discussions, getting people involved in a topic of the week. That hasn’t really happened, and although we’ve received many nice comments, the majority of the ones in our comments pending file each day are spam.  I resent spending time reading through the spam in order to find an actual comment.  And it doesn’t seem like most of our blog followers are really all that interested in commenting here. Most of the real questions and comments are sent directly to our email [email protected] or appear on Facebook. Facebook is a great way to comment on our website–we see the comments, and so do your FB friends. Email is also good for specific questions. Feel free to email us early and often!

As soon as I figure out how, I’m going to disable the comments on our blog and ask that you communicate with us only through email or on Facebook. We love to hear from you–the real you, not the awesome-posting-spammer-pseudo-you.
