June in the Garden

They were predicting a lot of rain and wind and hail for yesterday, so I took pictures before the storm.

That’s blue flax, near the bottom left corner in the picture above. Here’s a close-up of it with butterfly weed in bud.

Hail. This was small, and it didn’t last long, but just the thought of it is enough to strike terror into any gardener’s heart.

And after the storm, the poppy is still okay.
