A Day Off

What do you do when you’re a slave to the Green Industry and you’ve been working 35 days without a day off and you finally have an entire day to yourself? You go visit another garden, of course.  Sunday was our first day off for more than a month and we decided to spend part of it at Deb and Dave’s amazing cactus and succulent garden in Pueblo. They grow more than just succulents, but this time of year those are the plants that are so very eye-catching.  Many of our customers will remember Deb Veeder, our longtime employee and dear friend. She and her husband like to travel, so they have filled their garden with plants that can take neglect. One of the big draws at the moment is an agave that is getting ready to bloom.  It’s over 12′ tall!  Dave said that he thinks it has a couple more weeks before the buds will open. Here is Merrilee standing nearby for perspective.

And here is Delosperma ‘Blut’ blooming next to some of the cactus that Dave moves outside for the summer.
