Sunday, September 8–Final Day of the Fall Sale

Today is the last day of our fall sale and the last day we will be open for the year.  We’ve had a good time this weekend, and hope those of you who haven’t made it to our sale yet can stop by today.

Yesterday the Hummingbird Moths were out in full force, and more than one customer noticed them. They like the agastaches (wild hyssop) as much as the true hummingbirds do. Hummingbird Moths, also known as Sphinx Moths or Hawk Moths, are native pollinators. I’m happy to see them in the garden. I believe the one we’re seeing now is the White-lined Sphinx Moth. It’s responsible for pollinating many of the native evening primrose.  Here it is on Agastache rupestris, in silhouette .
