Open Today

We’re open today through Saturday and then we begin our July hiatus.  You can always check our website page and click on the When We’re Open tab for the most up to date schedule.  Or call us.  Or email. We’re happy to hear from you.

I took a quick tour of the nursery this morning and saw all sorts of cool stuff.  We now have  Campanula incurva ready for sale. It’s a great plant for the xeriscape with its large, ice blue, bell shaped flowers over compact foliage.  It only gets about 18″ tall, but it’s a show-stopper.

We also have a few Achillea ‘Royal Tapestry,’ a yarrow that we bought from another nursery some years ago, and now I never see it available anywhere but here. It’s a great color to accent Achillea ‘Moonshine’ and Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low,’ and it likes the same hot, dry conditions they do.

Our collection of sedums is also looking great now. Sedum sieboldii is one of the most beautiful succulents I’ve ever seen, yet it has not been easy for me to grow. Last year I planted one in a trough and it is gorgeous! It spent the winter in a cold frame. It came through the winter without damage, and I think when it blooms its rosy pink blooms this fall, it will be so beautiful you won’t be able to look at it without swooning.  Even though it is rated winter hardy to Zone 3 (40 below or something crazy) I think it needs to be protected from our dry winds in the winter. In the summer the wind doesn’t bother it at all. If you want this beauty in your garden, be prepared to cover it with a pine bough this winter.
