Echinocereus coccineus

A month ago I posted some pictures of a cactus we found near the nursery. I wasn’t sure of the name, but since then quite a few people have come forward to help with the identification: Echinocereus coccineus.  Don Barnett, from Pueblo, also emailed some pictures taken of cactus from that same ridge last spring when he and his wife, Cecelia, were visiting the nursery. He said that after they left our place they saw a number of them blooming and they had to stop for a closer look. Cecelia took the pictures with her tablet–not a camera. Pretty good pictures for a not-a-camera device!  Thanks, Don and Cecelia, for letting me post these.
