Wed, 01 Jun 2016 16:04:40 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.5.2 Free Seeds http://www.pfplants.com/?p=2801 Thu, 22 Aug 2013 14:29:17 +0000 http://www.pfplants.com/?p=2801 Continue reading ]]> We’ve been collecting seeds from plants here in the garden and I find we have a lot of seed of certain varieties.  Penstemon barbatus ‘Rondo’ is a prolific seeder, and I love its strong presence in the garden.  Salvia dumetorum is another great reseeder and I’m very grateful that it was able to survive the pocket gopher attack last year. It’s in an area where many plants were destroyed, but they left this salvia alone.  Who wants a list of gopher resistant plants? This one would be at the top.

If any of you would like seeds of either of these two varieties, you’re welcome to come get them at the nursery.  Free while supplies last!  The seeds can be started in a greenhouse, a windowsill, or just scattered in your garden, the way nature does it!

Penstemon ‘Rondo’ is a barbatus cross that comes in pink, red, purple and blue. Our seed is from both a red one and a purple one.

007Salvia dumetorum looks like a bigger version of Salvia ‘Caradonna’ and it is very drought tolerant.
